The simulator we will be using to travel around the world on this endeavor will be an Airbus 340. The reason this aircraft was chosen was because of its incredibly long range and extreme passenger comfort as well as its undeniable safety record to date. This aircraft is a 4-engine commercial jetliner seating between 295 and 380 passengers. Its range is 13,900 km. It is also considered one of the quietest and newest aircraft in the world today. The A340 utilizes the latest in aviation instrumentation and fly by wire technology.
How It's MadeSpecial Thanks to all the people for their wonderful contribution to helping make this project a success. Anyone with due diligence, a successful plan, some adequate savings and a burning desire to fly the virtual skies can create their own homebuilt simulator. The technology required to create any type of commercial aircraft in your own home, through the creation of everything from custom made realistic panels to wiring harnesses, fully operational FMC systems, switches, knobs, and buttons just to scratch the surface is now available to anyone willing to take the tie, financial comittment and dedication it takes to see a project of this magnitude through. I believe that even though this endeavor is indeed a very large personal undertaking the rewards that it can bring by helping raise money for wonderful charities such as World Vision, could never be measured in dollars and cents . We are so happy to have such an enjoyable project that has the ability to fund raise for World organizations, in desperate need of funds. These funds will provide everything from fresh drinking water, education and food for an entire community of people, in a third world country or even...right here at home. WorldFlight Canada applauds World Vision, Worldflight Volunteers and those that so generously donate, for their contribution to the future of children worldwide and the future of our beloved hobby.
